The space we call home is important to individuals and families alike. Whether it's a new house in the country, an addition in the close-in suburbs or an interior renovation in the city, BELLArchitects works to understand and achieve the occupants needs and desires.

We have designed custom new homes that incorportate special details and sustainable approaches to buildings and living. For example, in a new custom house located in Olney MD, we designed custom cabinets, built-in

seating and special features that were built on-site by local craftsman from trees culled from the property.

We also designed an addition to an old stone farmhouse in rural Pennsylvania that took its cues from the original house, but respected the incremental nature of how the house had been expanded many times over the years. The need for an addition proved to be an opportune time to correct construction problems such as a flooding basement and leaking roof.

Residence, MD
This is a new custom house built on a rural heavily wooded site. The two-story three-bedroom house includes an attached three-car garage with a small apartment above.

Residence, PA
A large 2 story addition and renovation of bedroom and bathroom area that gives the house more light and a greater presence in the garden.

Apartment Renovation, DC
This project involves combining three units in a cooperative apartment building with views of the city from the tree tops near the Washington National Cathedral.

Infill Residence, DC
This is a challenging, urban infill and adaptive reuse project located in the Capitol Hill Historic District near Stanton Park. The existing building is a one-story vehicle repair shop that covers the entire site.
